Old English Newsletter

The Old English Newsletter is the journal of the Old English Division of the Modern Language Association (MLA), and prepares an extensive bibliography, the Year's Work in Old English Studies. It is published quarterly (2 volumes in print and 2 volumes on-line), and housed at the English Department of the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.

OEN publishes extensive bibliographies of current Anglo-Saxon studies, abstracts of relevant conference papers, and a variety of articles of interest to Anglo-Saxonists. It is not directly affiliated with ISAS.

The OEN website contains news and announcements, recent essays and reports, an archive of past issues, conference abstracts from 2000-present, and information on subscriptions, back issues, and submissions. A searchable database of the annual OEN Bibliography contains items from 1973 to the present.

The OEN also publishes the OEN Subsidia. These are longer essays, class texts, brief editions, or other independent studies of interest to Anglo-Saxonists. They are published after extensive peer review under the auspices of the OEN at the University of Massachusetts. Back issues can be ordered online.
